JAN WEBB: Congratulations. You have completed a 24-hour course over the last six weeks on Implementing Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector. Over the last few weeks, you have learnt how to use international standards to prevent, report, respond,
and learn from safeguarding concerns. And how to implement safeguarding in various different types of programmes and activities. You have learnt how to develop a safeguarding culture in your organisation, develop accountability mechanisms to people
safely. We hoped you enjoyed learning together with Hasan and Sherine, our two animated learners, as well as learners from across the globe. Thank you for being active on the discussion forum and for sharing your experiences and knowledge with
other learners.
We also hope you had time to reflect on your own practice and have thought about how to keep yourself and others safe in the important work that you do. Please don’t forget to complete the post-assessment form at the end of this course. We are looking
forward to receiving your feedback on how you found this safeguarding journey. Also, we hope to see some of you on the next course, MOOC 3, Leadership in Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector. This third course has been designed for those
in leadership and management positions where responsibility for safeguarding is greater. Remember, a healthy safeguarding culture has to be everybody’s responsibility.
But it will only succeed when leaders step up to the challenge and lead by example. And thank you.
Watch the video above where the Lead Academic, Jan Webb, congratulates you on completing this 24-hour course Implementing Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector.
The video explains that there is a third and final course in this series Leadership in Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector, which is now available as a course on OpenLearn Create).
We are pleased to inform learners that we have also produced a new training aid called Safeguarding in the International Aid Sector: Training Toolkit.
This toolkit has been created to support you to disseminate the learning from Courses 1 and 2 to other people in your organisation and/or people in your partner organisation.
