Hello, you can call me Naw Lah Pwe Paw, or most people know me as Febe. I am currently working as a teacher at Minmahaw School, a migrant school in Mae Pa, Thailand.
Thinking back to when I was a learner in Mae La refugee camp, which is quite far from where I am teaching now. Everything was very different like the school buildings, teaching methods, and learning environment. There were not many practical activities at my school back then. However, one of my best learning experiences was when I was in Grade 10.
During a science class, we were learning about meiosis and mitosis. It was the first time I had the chance to go into our school computer room and watch a video about the lesson on a projector. That experience felt so real to me. For the first time, I felt like I was learning a real lesson. As a refugee student, it became one of my best memories. I still remember every detail—the quiet, dark computer room and the light from the projector.
I think many refugee students or students from disadvantaged backgrounds can understand how special this experience was.
Thank you for taking the time to read and get to know me. I am excited to learn together with all of you in this course
