how teachers can create safe spaces
- What role can and do teachers play in creating safe spaces through education in these contexts?
- Teachers are the main supporters of the children in the conflict zones to encourage them to believe in their dreams and goals and in creating safe space for them.
- What guidelines (if any) do schools in your communities have for the protection of learners, teachers and school infrastructures?
- In my perspective, the schools should be home of education for the students with love and care rather than forcing them to memorize or torturing. As the students have different capacities, we should not force them to follow our planned curriculum.
- What do you think is the best way to advocate for safe schools in such contexts?
- Safe school does not mean phisical strong building, but the school building also should be a strong enough to protect the students from the abnormal weather. Moreover, the school should also provide mentally secure place for the students and create a warm environment.
- What more could be done to ensure the safety of schools and their communities?
- First of all, everyone is responsible for the safety and security in the schools and communities. Then, it is very important for the eachers and leaders to have strategies and plans to tackle the problem in the communities beforehand to avoid the extreme negative consequences.
