One of the digital tools I often use in my classroom is Baamboozle. This website is free, which makes it very convenient for low-budget migrant schools like ours. The game is fun and engaging because students can choose questions based on point values, usually ranging from 100 to 1,000 points. The higher the points, the more challenging the questions.
The platform also offers several categories, so students are not limited to just one type of question. There are many ready-made question sets available for free, making it easy to use without much preparation. However, teachers can also create their own questions if they want to better match their lessons. I often use this tool not only for fun, but also to build general knowledge and review lesson content.
However, when using digital tools like this, it is important to consider relevance and effectiveness. Sometimes ready made games include questions that are too difficult or not related to the lesson. In such cases, the activity can disrupt learning and reduce students’ interest instead of supporting it.
