I was aware of all these types of teaching even before I started teaching. I studied from online and tried to implement all these methods in my classes. But it needs so much effort for me to include all these in one teaching session. Maybe, I still haven't got enough experiences to create the most effective learning.
2. How well did it work?
As there are also different types of learners, it is quite difficult to say how effective it was. Overall, it worked well and balanced for all the students, especially, learning through discussion and collaboration. Most of the time, the quick learners lead the group activities and it makes them easier to share one's thoughts and ideas, compared to sharing with teachers. I think for our students, learning through inquiry is the most challenging one. This might be because they are only familiar with the former learning style in Myanmar government school, which is memorising and by hearting. Or, maybe because of their lack of confidence.
3. Are there ways you could involve more learning types, or a better combination, in your teaching?
The inclusive participation. Giving the students new topics without explaining anything and make them do their own research in group, let them learn themselves first and share in the class.
Noted: all students must present and participate in research.
