The Ecological Systems Theory helps teachers understand that a student’s success is shaped by many layers, from their immediate relationships to big life changes like displacement. In a context of conflict, this theory allows me to see that a student’s struggle with focus or attendance often comes from outside factors, such as family stress or a lack of internet at home. By recognizing these systems, I can move beyond just teaching lessons and start building a "Safe System" for the students connecting with their parents to build trust and using low-tech tools to ensure everyone is included, regardless of their situation.
