Difficult situations in classroom

According to the VPLP framework, the situation showed how strict school rules created barriers for children with family or social challenges, making learning more difficult.

To support them, I gave flexible help in class, listened to their concerns, and spoke with families to understand their needs. I was working mainly in the microsystem, focusing on the classroom and family environment. In the exosystem, I could have spoken with school leaders about adjusting policies, and in the macrosystem, I might advocate for community support programs to reduce wider pressures.

For others facing similar issues, my advice is to look beyond the behaviour and ask about the child’s wider story,   small acts of empathy and collaboration with families or colleagues can make a big difference.
