Theory in practice

The theory helps teachers understand that students are affected by many things around them, not just school.

In situations of conflict and displacement, students may have problems at home, feel unsafe, or go through trauma. These things can affect how they learn, behave, and feel in class. For example, if a student is worried about their family or living situation, it can be hard for them to focus or do well in school.

The theory shows that different levels like family, school, community, and society all play a role in a student’s life. So, teachers should not judge students too quickly, because there may be deeper reasons behind their actions.

For me, this theory helps me be more understanding and patient with my students.
