As a volunteer teacher, when I practice asking my students questions and assessment, one thing that I usually do is, after the lesson, I ask reflection questions. Sometimes, my students also have follow-up questions after the first one. By doing this, I can understand how much my students get from my lessons. Then, I also know that they are interested in my lesson because of their curiosity.
To listen to learners, I give them sticky notes by the end of a week, and I let them write down how they feel during the whole week of my lessons. By writing down their feeling in the sticky notes, I try to tailor my lessons to their level and include more activities that help them understand the information more effectively.
To check my students' prior knowledge, I let them play games like Kahoot. In this game, I provide some questions related to general knowledge. Then, I can understand how much my students know and what kind of information I should include in my lessons.
