In my classroom, I usually prioritize comfrot and safety. The students are allowed to move around and decide their seating organization except the time we do activities that require exact space.
I set rules and communicate openly about what I think is acceptable and not. I also listen to the students opinion and take them in account.
Most of the time, the classroom organization works out well; however, sometimes the students feel bored.
I have taken different suggestions from my observers and my students to improve my classroom management.
I suggest teachers to set boundaries, be open about their opinons, and not to judge the students in the class. Being nutral makes the students feel comfortable to share and, possibley, overcome the fear of other's opinion.
