Do you have a sense of your role as a teacher, as a professional who has a responsibility, and some capability, to make life better for your students?

Yes, I feel that I have an important role as a teacher, not only to teach academic subjects but also to support my students as physically and mentally. Even in difficult situations, I believe teachers can help students feel safe, respected, and hopeful about their future.

As a teacher, I have a responsibility to understand my students’ experiences and listen to their voices. Many students may face challenges in their lives, so I try to create a classroom where they feel comfortable to share their thoughts and feelings.

I also think that I have the ability to make a positive difference, even in small ways. By showing care, giving encouragement, and creating meaningful activities, I can help students build confidence and believe in themselves.

This week helped me understand that education can play different roles, and as a teacher, I should try to be a positive force a supporter and a guide for my students. I may not be able to change everything, but I can create a better environment for my learners and help them move toward a better future.
