Reflection

How do you currently organise your classroom environment?

For my classroom, I always try to make it a place where the students feel comfortable and safe to study. They can study without having to deal with any judgement or criticism. So I guess, it is for sure at least a better place for them to study than the place they had studied before.

How do you establish boundaries that create a positive and safe environment for learning?

To be able to do this, first I believe we have to build trust between the teacher and the students. After that, create some routine that actually will be support the students inside the classroom. For example, listen when the teacher is speaking or other students are speaking, raise hands when they have questions, and pick out the name when you have quizes. Then, you can start making classroom rules that the students and teacher agree upon inside the classroom. Sometimes, the students will stay quiet so you can call the students individually to check their emotional level. By doing this, I believe it will establish a positive and safe environment for learning somehow.

Have you noticed any positive or negative effects of your classroom organisation on student behaviour and learning?

Mostly, I will see positive effects in my classroom organisation on student behavior and learning. For example, if one student isn't speaking a lot when you ask questions or when doing the presentation. My classroom organisation somehow boost the confident level of the student and later, that student is eagerly participate in the activity and speak bravely in front of other students.

Have you read any suggestions from others on the course that could help you improve your own teaching practice?

Yes and I would get it from other teachers normally instead from the students. I always talked about my classroom behavior and discuss it inside the classroom. I always like to get feedback as well as trying new things all the time. So I was being able to improve in the past few years.
