Post your questions

What are your reflections on the learning you have been through this week? Have you been able to interpret your own teaching context in terms of the way that education, conflict and peace are interrelated in the VPLP framework? And what about the Ecological Systems Theory - can you make sense of it in your context?

Rather than reflection, I would say I see things more clearer now. I wasn't unfamiliar with things that we have done so far as I was teaching in the conflict and crisis places such as refugees so I exactly can understand this context than other I believe. Right now, I can tell what I can do to be able to help the students in so much better way in their learning I believe. And of course, understanding the Ecological Systems Theory had made huge impact on my teaching as now I can see things in more wider vision and that somehow, I will be able to teach students to learn better probably.

In what ways do these concepts and theories help you understand what children bring to the classroom and how you can help them?

I think I could now be more sympathetic and empathatic to the well being or the children as well as the way they would probably learned. I think somehow, now I can someone who can be emotionally supporting the learners and able to encourage them to study. Also, I am sure I will be someone who they can trust and consult any problems that they might come across. I can also be their counseling metor probably.

Please post your thoughts, and also take the time to read through and react to what others have said. We will take into account what you say in these conversations as we revise and develop the course for this and future runs.

I would say understanding these concepts is a great idea but to be able to affectively using this is an another story. It will be a lot harder and you will have to struggle a lot to be able to help them. Some times, your plan will work and some times it won't. But don't give up and I am sure everything you will do will be fruitful in the future. And that's the least thing we can do as a teacher. As long as we don't give up on the dream of the students to be able to learn effectively, I am sure it will work out some how.
