Reflection
How do you currently organise your classroom environment?
Creating a safe and supportive learning environment is very important, esp for learners who have experienced difficult situations. If I am a teacher, I plan to try to organise the environment in a way that makes students feel comfortable and respected.
How do you establish boundaries that create a positive and safe environment for learning?
I focus on building positive relationships with my students. For instance, I ask simple questions like "how are you today?" or "what are you grateful for today?" to show that I care about their feelings. I believe this helps students feel safe and more willing to participate in class activities.
Have you noticed any positive or negative effects of your classroom organisation on student behaviour and learning?
In term of classroom organisation, I plan to arrange seating to support pair and group discussions, such as circle or small group seating. I think this encourages collaboration and helps students communicate more openly. From my experiences, I have noticed that students are more engaged and behave more positively, when they feel comfortable.
Have you read any suggestions from others on the course that could help you improve your own teaching practice?
Yes, I have read. Frankly, One important idea I found from others is teaching self-regulation skillls, such as reflecting before starting lesson. I think this can help students to remember the lesson taught effectively.
Share your reflections and insights in the comments and suggest one idea that would work in your classroom that someone else might be able to use.
One idea that I think would work in my classroom is using a short activity where students can enjoy while learning. This can help build trust and create their ability improve with enjoyable activities. So, It is sth other teachers can easily apply.
