I think basic counselling can be part of a teacher’s role, especially in difficult situations, because teachers are close to students and can support them by listening and understanding. However, for serious problems, it should be handled by trained specialists.

There can be risks if teachers are not trained, such as misunderstanding students’ problems or not giving the right support.

I think schools need more training and guidance so teachers can learn basic counselling skills and know when to ask for extra help.
