Yes, I used to use some part from these five core competencies of Social Emotional Learning. Such as self-management and making responsible decision. From there, I have the challenges when I communicate with the children by worrying about that I would be like over strict and make the children scare. However, I tried to evaluate myself while teaching also. As the result, the children are becoming empathy and looking for other children while or when they are going to do something and finished their task that they got accepted.
Do you think you could use any of the lesson plans or SEL games from the International Rescue Committee resources in your teaching? If so, which ones, and why do you think they would work in your context?
I would use five of the core competencies in my teaching context because it includes the value of learning and teaching in these competencies. I was not so long knowing how the important of self-awareness to yourself. It can bring seeing who you are so that you will know what you want to be and there will be hope for being as who you are. The same as social awareness and relationship skill. If you know or understand will about social and communication, life is much easier to stay. Thus, the children who come from conflict and crisis stetting need these mandatory skills for thier future.
