As for me, I always ask questions to my students before the lesson starts. Sometimes, I also let them write a note on a small paper to identify or talk about their emotions. by doing those activities, I can see their needs and depending on their needs, I might change my lesson plan somehow. After I know their needs, I put more activities in my lesson plan to make them relaxed and well-being.
