I have tried a few simple strategies of Social Emotional Learning with the students.
The students I had taught are children, so I encouraged them to reflect on their feelings by asking short questions like “How are you feeling today?” This helped some students become more aware of their emotions and more ready to learn.
I also used group activities where students worked together and shared ideas. This helped them practice listening and respecting others’ opinions. However, a challenge I faced is that some students are still shy or not used to expressing their feelings openly, so it takes time and patience.
Overall, I think these strategies are helpful.
