I’ve used Relationship Skills by having students solve math problems in pairs or groups, which helps them practice listening, understanding and helping each other. A big success was seeing their confidence grow, but the language barrier remains a challenge when they try to express complex feelings and solving the world problems. I think the SEL Games Bank from the International Rescue Committee would be very useful, especially the games focused on non-verbal communication. In a migrant school context, these games help build Social Awareness and trust without the stress of perfect English, making our Microsystem a safer place for students to heal and learn.
