Supporting your learners

1. Strategies, successes, and challenges (SEL)

I have taught social awareness and self-management to my students so they could improve themselves and create a respectful classroom. For example, I teach them to respect others’ opinions and control their emotions when they are angry. However, some students are still difficult to change, and it takes time and patience. I will be planning to teach all five SEL competencies to help students become good and responsible people in society.

2. Using lesson plans or SEL games

Yes, I think I can use the lesson plans and SEL games from the International Rescue Committee in my classroom. The activities are creative and fun for students. Also, the materials are easy to find in our community, such as newspapers to make a ball. These activities help students learn teamwork, and communication skills. Therefore, I think these activities are very useful for my students.
