  • Do you think that offering counselling is part of a teacher’s role, or is it a specialist role? 

In my opinion, counselling will be better if it is possible to do it because teachers are the one who directly tough with the students every day. If they can be concealing the students, they understand more about the students, and it will help their teaching. Moreover, students also be more comfortable to explore their feeling to his/her than a stranger.

  • Are there any risks involved in offering this support to learners?

Maybe like when the students don't want to or when it came to about their lives Offering counselling can be violent to their rights.

  • Is this something that your school already provides or what further support or training would your school/learning center need in order to be able to provide counselling support to learners?

Yes, I have experience from my old school. School has two counselling members because there are many students from different place. Some, they stay away from their family, and some don't have any contact to their family. To help them emotionally, we have offering counselling.
