Key principles of a supportive learning environment

  • In your experience, can these principles apply equally to all learning contexts? For example, can they still be applied in settings of conflict and displacement?

Yes all these principles can be applied to all learning contexts. The main thing is the willingness to apply these. It is mainly depend on teachers. Instead of hoping the systems or any other factors that are our out of control to be changed. Teachers should do with everything they can no matter in which contexts they are. I believe that "Where there is a will, there is a way"

  • If you have tried implementing these principles, have you encountered any problems making them work in practice? How did you address these issues?

I have tried implementing some of these principles. The problem I encounter at first was that the students were not really familiar with these learning styles as most of the students I taught were from Myanmar and they attended the government school, where none of these supportive strategies were used. I even encounter misunderstanding with some teachers.

But it was only in the beginning of the school year, and eventually they adapt to it and they become more active in learning.
