  • Do you think that offering counselling is part of a teacher’s role, or is it a specialist role?

For me personally I think if the teacher can do counselling it will be more effective because the only the teacher who interact with the students every single day in the school. The school will express their feeling truthfully toward the teacher than the specialist who is completely stranger for students. One role for the specialist can do is give the training to the teacher to be able to do counselling more accurate way with the students.

  • Are there any risks involved in offering this support to learners?

Yes, there can be some risks for students if they express their feeling and emotions to the wrong people whether the teacher or specialist. Those people can use this as a weapon threating the students using their weakness to gain benefits.

  • Is this something that your school already provides or what further support or training would your school/learning centre need in order to be able to provide counselling support to learners?

For the school that I went to teach there is no counselling support like this but now the current school that I attend they provide but I never joined because I don't feel comfortable to share with the kind of specialist stranger that I don't really know. If I have a chance to provide counselling I would love to because it is really necessary to provide well being of the students.
