One principle I value in my teaching is student voice and participation. To embed this, I use an activity called “exit slips” at the end of lessons, where learners write one thing they learned and one question they still have. This simple practice encourages reflection, gives students a safe way to express their needs, and helps me adapt future lessons to their feedback.

By doing this, I am putting into action the principles of listening to learners, building trust, and fostering collaboration. It also supports their social-emotional development by showing them that their ideas and feelings matter in shaping the classroom experience.
