In my teaching, I use simple strategies to support Social Emotional Learning, such as checking in on students’ feelings, encouraging group work, and promoting respect in the classroom. These help students develop self-awareness, self-management, and relationship skills. I have seen positive results, as students become more confident and supportive of each other, but some challenges remain because a few students feel shy or are not used to expressing their emotions. I believe I can use activities from International Rescue Committee, especially simple SEL games that focus on teamwork and communication, because they are practical and suitable for my context. These activities would help create a safe and supportive learning environment and improve both students’ well-being and learning.
