This week I reflected on how social and emotional learning principles can shape a supportive classroom. L learned that creating safety, respect and consistency help students feel secure, while activities like culture sharing or projects build self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship skills. I also realized that in contexts of conflict or displacement, these principles still apply but need more flexibility such as small routines and empathy can make a big difference. Overall, I see SEL as a way to connect learning with real life values, helping both students and teachers grow together.
