One activity I would like to use in my classroom is journal writing. Students write about their day, feelings, or anything they want to share. I would use this activity at the end of the school day or a few times each week. This gives students a quiet time to think and express themselves. Some students are shy and do not like to speak in front of others, so writing helps them share in a safer way.
This activity helps students improve their writing skills because they practice using English in a real and personal way. At the same time, it creates a safe and supportive environment because students know their thoughts are respected. I will not force them to share everything, and I will keep their writing private. This helps build trust between me and the students.
Journal writing also helps me understand my students better. I can see how they feel, what problems they have, or what makes them happy. This understanding helps me support them in class. For example, if a student feels sad or stressed, I can talk to them gently or give extra support.
