One activity I can use in my classroom is a reflection diary activity. Students write regularly (not necessarily every day) about challenges they faced, how they solved them, and what they are proud of.
In this activity, students write about one difficulty they met, how they tried to overcome it, and say “thank you” to themselves for their effort. They also write how they can be stronger next time. This can be done at the end of the week.
This activity helps students develop self-awareness, confidence, and problem-solving skills. It encourages them to think positively and appreciate their own effort, which builds emotional strength and resilience. Students learn that making mistakes is part of learning.
For the teacher, this activity helps understand students’ feelings and challenges without putting them under pressure. It also creates a calm and supportive classroom environment. Over time, students become more independent, reflective, and motivated to improve themselves.
