Introductions (discussion)

My name is Nyan Lin Tun, and I am very happy to be here with you all. Currently, I am a student, but my goal is to become a volunteer teacher in the future. I really believe that being a teacher is about more than just giving a lecture; it's about creating a "network" where every student feels they belong.

When I think back to when I was a learner, the best environment I ever experienced was a small, informal coding group. It wasn't like a traditional school with rows of desks and a strict teacher at the front. Instead, it was a very "flat" space where everyone was allowed to fail without being judged by others.

What made it so good for me was the freedom to explore. In that room, if your "code" didn't work, the teacher never give you a bad grade. They just sat next to you and said, "Let's debug this together." This made the learning feel like a fun puzzle instead of a scary test. Because I wasn't afraid of making mistakes, I ended up learning much faster than I ever did in a high-pressure classroom.

Also, the teacher always explain why things mattered, not just what we had to memorize for the exam. That connection to the real world make me feel like my time was being respected. As a future volunteer teacher, I want to bring that same "vibe" to my students—where they feel safe to try new things and knowing that I am there to support them.
