Diane Butler is the Associate Dean (Academic Excellence) in the STEM Faculty, a role that includes responsibility for academic professional development, induction and probation, as well as quality enhancement and policy regarding STEM scholarship of teaching and learning. Diane is also the Director of eSTEeM, the OU Centre for STEM pedagogy. 

With 20 years’ experience as a Staff Tutor and a variety of previous faculty roles (such as Module Team Chair on Exploring science and Investigative and mathematical skills in science), she remains a committed advocate for distance learning.
