15.4.2  Home visits for patients who fail to collect drugs for self-administration

Suppose a patient on a self-administered continuation regimen fails to collect the drug supply on the appointment day. What should you do? If a patient does not come for the drugs within a week, visit the patient’s home to find the patient, deliver the drugs and determine the problem. Try to solve any problems after discussion with the patient, as outlined in Table 15.2.
