Continue your Design Journey

The project you just worked through is an adapted extract from the T190 Design Practices [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] module which is a foundation in design practice that introduces topics from different creative and design disciplines. Each topic introduces design principles and practical skills that you’ll apply in a series of short design projects.

You will have a tutor that will support you throughout your project work, organising regular check-ins, discussion opportunities and project reviews. Your project work will contribute to your final design portfolio, a professional body of work that reflects your interests. By the end of the module, you’ll have started to explore where your emerging design identity could take you.

The module is part of a larger BDes course, which is a full undergraduate qualification in design. Design shapes our world. From the products and services we use to the systems that make up our society. Our design degree (BDes) will nurture your creativity, develop your problem-solving and help you turn ideas into action. You’ll learn through practical projects that introduce you to the world of professional design across industries – from designing a humble T-shirt to tackling real-world problems facing our future. By the end, you’ll have a respected degree, a professional portfolio and the technical and creative skills needed to launch you into your chosen career.
