    • Overview of this course

This course is designed as an easy introduction to using OpenLearn materials with learners as an Open Learning Champion, particularly if supporting learning in this way is new to you. As with most things, there is no 'one way' and much will depend on your experience, the needs of your learners and your confidence levels using OpenLearn yourself.

Some top tips from existing OpenLearn Champions before you get stuck into te course materials -

      • Try out a range of courses or activities for yourself and keep returning to search for new ones - perhaps try something totally out of your comfort zone!
      • Get to know the website
      • Reflect on how you learn and how you learnt to take the first step
      • Ensure that you can factor in time management especially if you are working, etc,.
      • Sharing our own learning experiences and encouraging others to the same is a good starting point

These are tips from people just like you - enthusiastic and committed 'helpers' who wish to enrich the lives of others and believe that education is for all!
