My name is Saw Tha Doh Soe and I am a refugee from Myanmar. My family and I settled in Mae La Refugee Camp (Thailand) since 2009 because of the civil war.
In 2024, I have completed my high school in Mae Lae Refugee Camp. To further my education and to get an accredited diploma, I moved to a migrant school, Minmahaw Higher Education Program (MHEP), which is a General Education Development (GED) program. This school is located in Mae Sot city of Thailand.
As a student, I have seen a lot of things and experienced so many learning style. However, the best learning environment that I have experienced was that the place where there is no stress, and a place where both teachers and students have mutual respect. For example, at Minmahaw School, students can share their opinions and what they feel. The teachers also will listen to the students' opinions and what they feel. Students can make some jokes in the classroom as long as they are polite and being respectful without worrying about the punishment. Both teachers and students always respect each other. There is no stress about sharing your opinions. This is the best environment that I have experienced.
