The way teacher can create safe spaces

discuss about a context of conflict and/ or displacement that you know well, from your perspective:

  • What role can and do teachers play in creating safe spaces through education in these contexts?

Teachers can do being supportive orally and physically such as playing exercises or doing Yoga during the week to maintain well-being for the students and staff.

  • What guidelines (if any) do schools in your communities have for the protection of learners, teachers and school infrastructures?

Schools in my communities do have mostly according to school rules such as no bullies, no drugs or alcohol and mutual respect for the protection of learners, teachers and school infrastructures.

  • What do you think is the best way to advocate for safe schools in such contexts?

The best way to advocate for safe schools is like make sure every schools members from that communities are active. Learners including the principle, teachers and students should be participate and listen each other rather than have a very strict rules. And when you set up the rules follow what you set up or if you cannot, don't call it as a rule.
