Personally, I don't teach at the beginning of the school . I let the students get to close each other by playing activities and introducing their basic background. Identify their knowledges base on the lessons that i am going to teach. If needed, take some level text so i can plan the lessons that match their level. Explain the lessons in different ways with different languages if needed.
