how can teachers create safe spaces?

Based on my experiences, in this situation teacher job is not only for teaching but can also step up as an emotional support for students. "Teacher figure" plays impactful role in displaced school especially in war zone area teachers are one of the qualified adults who can support students physically and mentally, providing them with encouragement, ensure students safety and creating the safe and sound learning environment.

Since I came from refugee background, there is no special standardized system in my former school to  support the protection of learner, teachers and school infrastructures but the school did try the best to provide common rule to protect the students and teachers like mutual respect between students, system to report bully cases. These sound nothing special but did make some students life better and enjoyable learning environment.

To ensure the safety of students is far more important than any other in these conditions. Even during the war, teachers should prioritized students first and protect the school from any violence.

To ensure the school safety, the school need more resources and connections from  internal and international organization like NGO. Having a access to training of survival skills and education are must needed in these kinds of contexts.
