My day as a volunteer teacher

Currently, I am not working as a volunteer teacher but I used to be one and I still want to be the one.

Back then when I was a volunteer teacher, I faced similar problems as mentioned above. I needed to wake up at 6:00 am in the morning and start preparing for the lunchbox for myself. We didn't have proper lesson plan or curriculum textbook provided, so I needed to create my own lesson plan and find resources myself, which takes lots of time as I didn't receive proper teaching training. I am still an adult and single which makes me a bit more easier and less house chores compared to other teachers.

However, I used to struggle a lot between my own education career and this volunteering job. I couldn't let myself all-in for the volunteering as it is not guaranteed for my future. Instead of salary, I only earned pocket money. I also didn't get any proper training and it makes me doubt myself eventually. Therefore, I decided to stop being a volunteer teacher, not because i didn't want to serve my community but according to my family's financial and my education.

For now, I am working as a freelance teacher online to earn my personal income and attending online courses to improve my teaching skills first. I am trying to balance between volunteering and for my own wellbeing, so that I would able to serve my community in more effective way and for long-term.
