creating supportive learning environments

There are so many class routines Padlet out there such as exist tickets question or icebreaking game to break barrier between one and another students. But the trick is the Padlet game has to choose based on the student's age. During part time at daycare, whenever new student comes in I try to figure out what is her/his preference. "Does he like cartoon?" "Does she like singing?" because you cannot force a child to socialized if he doesn't want to. So every class time, I installed a small blind box and ask them to draw and I asked the kids to put the anonymous drawing in the box. Later kids will randomly pick up the drawings of their friends' and hanging up on the wall. In this way the communication can build up between one and another indirectly. But most of the kids in daycare if their friends pick up their drawing they screamed out loud "That's mine" "That's mine" .
