creating supportive learning environments (discussion)

I use this routine in my classroom with secondary school students. Before starting group work, I clearly explain each student’s role (leader, note-taker, presenter). I also set simple rules like listening to others, sharing ideas, and respecting opinions. During the activity, I walk around to support and guide them.

This routine works well because it keeps students organized, reduces confusion, and encourages teamwork. It also helps quieter students feel more confident to participate.
