What I understand from the VPLP framework is that education plays an important role in both community life and conflict situations. Education can be a victim when students and teachers are afraid to attend school because of armed forces or political impacts. Moreover, education can be a perpetrator when it spreads false information or biased lessons in the curriculum to support one-sided views, sometimes even being used as propaganda to give false hope. However, education can be a liberator when teachers and society provide knowledge and confidence to children. Lastly, education can be a peacebuilder when teachers and communities encourage open discussion and respect diverse opinions. In this way, education helps build human rights and freedom.
