In my context, education can be both a victim and a tool for change. It becomes a victim when schools are closed due to conflict, fear, or lack of safety, which affects students’ learning. Sometimes, education can also act as a perpetrator when it does not include all groups or ignores cultural diversity.

However, education can also be a liberator and a peacebuilder. It helps students think critically, understand their rights, and express their ideas. Schools can promote respect, inclusion, and understanding among different groups.

Schools are often targeted because they represent authority and bring people together.

Teachers can support critical thinking by encouraging discussion, asking questions, and allowing students to share their experiences. To promote peacebuilding, teachers can create a respectful classroom, teach empathy, and help students learn how to solve conflicts peacefully.
