Difficult situations in classroom

The VPLP framework: Education as victim, perpetrator, liberator, and peacebuilder, helped me understand that education is very important, but it can also be affected by external factors such as family background and the situation in a country. If education is used in the wrong way, it can include manipulation and bias. However, when education is used correctly, it can become a powerful tool to build peace in communities, countries, and even the environment.

To apply this framework in my teaching, I try to carefully filter my lessons and messages before delivering them to students. I avoid sharing my personal opinions too strongly and try to reduce bias in my teaching. At the same time, I often ask for my students’ opinions and remind them that everyone can have different views. I explain that there is not always one correct answer, especially in discussions about society and experiences. In this way, I can see a range of perspectives in the classroom and reduce the risk of biased information.
