My experience

Yes, I used to experienced that a girl can not go to school because of gender. In our country , traditionlally if you are a women there is no point to to go to school. They have to marriged in young age and there is no way to complain, even if you don't listen  your parents you are not a good child anymore. Sometimes there are social harrtesments about the girls the way they girls. They can not go to school and have to work in young ages because finacil problems. Sometimes they don't want to go to school because they can not ware like others students and they ashame of their self.
