In what ways is education a victim, perpetrator, liberator and/or peacebuilder in your context?

Education as a victim = when students or their learning environment is interrupted by others both physically and mentally. E.g. students are scared to go to school due to their safety concern.

Why are schools often the target of attacks?

In my opinion, it is because schools are the place where usually large numbers of people gather. And attacking the students at school will hinder their education, which in turn connects to the development of a country or that community. As the attackers want to win against their opposition, they attack the access to the education.

What can teachers do to make education an opportunity for critical thinking and empowerment?

Avoid bias education and have a positive purpose of teaching. Teachers shouldn't stop learning even they themselves are teaching to the students. Understand the needs of the students and support them in the most effective way.

What can teachers do to promote peacebuilding in their classrooms?

Make sure to keep the classroom in positive environment. Avoid violent words and collective identity, maintain equality, teach moral lessons and discipline. Pay respect to all the students and make sure they pay respect to each other.
