This week, I learned about the VPLP framework, Ecological Systems Theory, and the five-step method for promoting a positive and safe learning environment. All of them are very useful, and they helped me understand teaching more clearly.

My question this week is about home visits. Is there any theory about home visits in education? In my opinion, I sometimes feel worried about doing home visits. On one hand, there are benefits because we can understand students’ backgrounds better. On the other hand, I am concerned that teachers might overstep into students’ personal lives, and some students may feel uncomfortable.

I would like to know what the disadvantages of home visits are, what the weak points are, and how we can manage or avoid these problems.
