Sharing my experience

  • Can you think of situations from your own experience, similar to the examples given above?

Microsystem = I encourage my students in friendly but respective way to support their confidence in speaking English

Mesosystem = When I taught in preschool, I communicated with the parents to make sure they practice their homework and also to let the parents follow the good habits and the daily routine of their school day even during holidays.

Macrosystem = Some of the students that I taught think that learning others' language is not the right thing to do. They believe that learning other people's language is like betraying their nationality and their own language.  These are the impact of the negative doctrine, descended from generation to generation. I tried my best and explain them to keep the nationalism and education separated.

  • Do you have any questions about Bronfenbrenner’s theory?

How can teachers support students who were influenced by cultural beliefs, norms or policies that teachers cannot change?
