This week’s learning helped me reflect more deeply on the role of teachers working in challenging contexts. As someone who grew up and now teaches in a migrant community shaped by conflict and displacement, many of the experiences shared by teachers from different places felt very familiar to me. It reminded me that although our contexts may be different geographically, the challenges teachers face such as limited resources, unstable environments, and students carrying difficult experiences are often very similar.
One important idea that stood out to me was the Conversational Framework and the six learning types. It made me rethink teaching not only as delivering knowledge, but as creating the right conditions where different forms of learning can happen. I realized that good teaching is not just about explanation, but also about discussion, collaboration, inquiry, and giving students opportunities to practice and produce their own understanding.
The course also strengthened my belief that creativity and adaptability are essential for teachers in difficult environments. Even with limited resources, teachers can design meaningful learning experiences using simple materials, digital tools, or community knowledge.
Overall, this week did not completely change my views about education, but it helped refine and organize my thinking. It showed me that the challenges we face locally are part of a larger global conversation among teachers, and that by sharing ideas and experiences we can continue improving how we support our students.
