While I am still starting my teaching journey, learning about Ecological Systems Theory has changed how I plan to respond to difficult behavior. Instead of just seeing a naughty student, I will look for the story in their Microsystem (family) or Chronosystem (life changes). I plan to use home visits or talk with parents to build a Mesosystem connection. This will help me teach with more empathy and find creative ways to support my students' real-life challenges.
