I see my role as a teacher not only as someone who gives knowledge, but also as a person who can support and guide students to have a better future. I believe teachers have a responsibility to create a safe and positive learning environment, especially for students facing challenges.

This week’s learning helped me understand how education, conflict, and peace are connected. Using the VPLP framework, I can see how education can be affected by conflict but also help build peace. The Ecological Systems Theory also helps me understand that students are influenced by many factors outside the classroom, such as family, community, and culture.

These concepts help me better understand my students’ backgrounds and experiences. They guide me to be more supportive, flexible, and aware in my teaching, so I can help students not only learn but also feel safe and valued.
